I.21.6 Pompeii. May 2010. Detail of plaster casts of two bodies, victim 44, left and victim 45, right.
Victim 44 was a male aged between 7 and 12 years old.
On the surface of the right side of the body there are traces similar to wavy drapery, but it is likely that these are
rather later retouching made to the cast.
Victim 44 was found near the triclinium between the 31st of May and the 7th of June 1961.
Victim 43 was in front of victims 44 and 45, beyond which were victims 46 and 47.
Maiuri imagined him as the son of the couple who were victims 43 and 45.
